Hot in the Shop

It’s been another busy week at Klooftique and we’ve had fantastic new stock arriving every day. We’ve just manufactured a smoky glass-topped version of our popular round stainless steel-and-glass ‘Drum’ coffee table, now in store. Elegant and refined, the table (available in 1000mm and 300mm diameter) works well in modern, monochromatic interiors and makes a statement without being too overwhelming. Perfect for small spaces too.

I’m always on the look out for stylish shelving solutions and I love the new ‘Step’ bookshelf, which is a functional piece that’s perfect for magazine and book storage, or even as a savvy place to display sculpture and ceramics. I like to mix them all together – makes a great statement in any room – and I love that this shelf is so easy to move around, especially when you rearrange furniture as much as I do! Hung with mirror hooks on the wall for stability, ‘Step’ is available in mostly Southern African sustainable hardwood timbers such as kiaat, African mahogany, and African walnut.

I’m mad about the cartoon-inspired Jump From Paper bags that we unpacked on Saturday. Designed by Taipei-based design duo, Chay Lin Su and Rika Lin, they’re playful and innovative and twist from 2D to (deceptively) roomy 3D as soon as you fill ‘em up with your stuff. I hope you’ll be as obsessed as I am with this fabulous range, which includes a bowling bag, iPad bag and my personal favourite, the ‘Afternoon Tea’ bag.
